About The Conference

Department of Chemistry, Sri Jai Narain (PG) College, Lucknow (India) is going to organize National Conference RECENT ADVANCES AND INNOVATIONS IN CHEMICAL AND MATERIALS SCIENCE (RAICMS-2017) during 23 – 24 February, 2017. This conference aims to provide a forum for scientists, researchers and educators around the world to exchange state-of-the-art research and development and identify research needs and opportunities in all aspects of Material Science. The primary objectives of this conference are to provide scientists, engineers, graduate students and other professionals with a forum to actively engage in research discussions, and professional development; and create opportunities for the next generation workforce to develop their professional skills.

Lucknow the historical city of Nawabs on the bank of Gomti River is the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The city offers a multidisciplinary blend of excellent facilities and expertise in the area of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Technology. With CSIR laboratories (CDRI, NBRI, IITR, CIMAP), ICAR laboratories (IISR, CISH, NBFGR, CSSRI), DST Institutes (BSIP), Biotech Park, IT Park, University of Lucknow, Dr. Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar University (Central University), Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Dr. Shakuntala Mishra University, Dr. APJAK Technical University, SGPGI, KGMU alongwith several private funded universities, the city boasts of excellent expertise and infrastructure in the area of chemical, biomedical science, drug development, toxicology and environment protection, etc.

About the college

THE MOTTO OF THE COLLEGE IS “VIDYAMRATUMSHANUTE” – KNOWLEDGE IS LIKE NECTAR THAT MAKES A PERSON IMMORTAL Founded in 1946, as a modest Anglo-Sanskrit school, this premier institution of U.P. marched from strength to strength ever since. It was upgraded to middle school in 1918, high school in 1920, Intermediate College in 1923, Degree College in 1946, a full fledged degree college (Arts, Science, Commerce faculties) in 1954. Today it is the biggest associated college of Lucknow University catering to the needs of approx 10000 students at under graduate and post graduate levels with faculties namely Arts, Science Commerce, Law, B.Ed., B.B.A. (IB) and B.P. Ed. with a staff over 400. In the year 2015 college was Accredited ‘A’ Grade by NAAC.

About the Department

The Department of Chemistry, Sri JNPG College Lucknow (Accredited A grade by NAAC) was established in the year 1948.The department has asset of well qualified teachers (Nos.) which contributes to high quality of education being imparted to the students. The department is well equipped for rendering high quality of research wok. The department has four modern laboratories which cater to the need of round about 1800 students. Besides this it has a huge departmental library having 870 books. Recent journals of repute are readily available in the chemistry department for research purposes. The departmental teachers are involved in various research activities. The college authorities are very cooperative to facilitate all requirements regarding research and academic activities.

The objective of seminar is

1.    To enrich the knowledge of the students and young researchers in the field of materials science and engineering.

2.    To discuss the recent advances and challenges in material science.

3.    To build a better foundation for their knowledge on materials preparation and characterization.

Submission Of Abstract

The abstract of not more than 300 words in MS Word format only should be prepared accordingly the template provided on the website: www. jnpg.org.in The abstracts should be submitted electronically at raicms2017@gmail.com

Abstract should briefly include the purpose of study, methods, results and conclusion. At the bottom of the page please indicate the category (thrust area) and also whether an oral or poster presentation is preferred. (Only a few selected papers will be given the opportunity for oral presentation due to time constraint). The abstract of only registered candidates will be considered for oral/poster presentation. All the submitted abstracts will be scrutinized by a reviewing committee and notice of the acceptance will be send by Email

Oral Presentation

1.For oral presentation, time of 10 minutes will be given to each speaker.

2.Presentation to be prepared in MS Power Point and to be brought on a CD or USB memory stick

3.Standard Audio Visual equipment will be provided for presentation.

Poster Presentation

1.Space will be provided for poster (1x1 meter display)

2.Pins and stand will be provided by the organisers.

3.Poster should be legible enough to be viewed from a distance of 4 feet.
